I’ve been working in media all of my professional life. Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by Radio, TV, Internet and now Social Media!
My media career began in 1989 as the on air Breakfast Presenter at County Sound Radio. A career in local radio moving into programme management played out over the next 10 years. In 1998, I was appointed Managing Director of 106.9 Silk FM, launching the new local station for Cheshire. During my time in radio, I launched and relaunched a number of radio stations and was instrumental in the licence application for Reading 107 and launched Kick FM in Berkshire.
Over the last 20 years, I have gained considerable experience in radio and press, developing integrated campaigns for SME’s to household names. I have been instrumental in creative copywriting, producing, scheduling, analysis, sponsorship and promotions for literally hundreds of clients.
Understanding the target market and customer objectives is fundamental to everything I do. It is essential if you are to deliver an ROI for your customer.
Traditional channels are finding it increasingly difficult to compete in the new world of electronic media and it is the new developments in Social Media that have inspired me to set up this business.
Paul Allen Media began trading in 2010 focussing on three key areas, consultancy, management and training. The company now provides social media, online marketing, content marketing and video production knowledge and expertise to companies of all sizes across the UK. Regular public Social Media Boot Camps continue to provide a low cost, ground level training programme for companies and individuals and now the company provides video training modules to a national franchise chain.
Social Media allows businesses to acheive so much more than could ever be imagined even just 10 years ago. This is the right medium for right now and there’s never been a more exciting time to get involved! However despite this exciting new world, it is my firm belief that the best Social Media campaigns will focus on the traditional values of identifying the customer’s objectives, identifying the correct audience, matching needs to benefits and delivering an effective message and providing effective analysis.
