Paul Allen says YES! to wedding proposal…

by Paul Allen on May 15, 2011

For any social media sceptics, who don’t believe people are connecting via the social web then let me introduce you to Tamryn Kirby. Tamryn, along with her good friend and colleague Julie Tooby, works in the wedding industry. Both have understood the importance of online marketing in their businesses.

Like the world of driving instruction, the wedding industry is being revolutionised by social media. Not surprisingly, because in each case the target customer has grown up in an online world and is using these new platforms to connect and engage with friends, but also to search for goods and services. Furthermore, because the industry is dominated by small, often owner operated businesses, low or even no cost marketing strategies using social media make good business sense.

More specifically, Tamryn comes from a family of keen Reading FC fans and perhaps (as this is a SOCIAL network after all) this was the additional connection needed for our two paths to cross! Whatever the reason, Tamryn, Julie and I have connected via Twitter and now I am delighted that say that Tamryn has asked me to address the wedding community at her networking event in Pangbourne on 25th May 2011!

On the night I will be sharing my early insights and experiences in the new world of Social Media, I’ll also outline the key principles that I have found invaluable from the REAL gurus and luminaries in this brave new world and I’ll explain how best to get up and running & fit this exciting new marketing activity into your already busy daily business agenda!

So if you are in the wedding industry, but haven’t yet connected with Tamryn Kirby, do so here and make sure you join us in Pangbourne on 25th May!
